This article explains modes on your mobile phone, with examples of photographs using the modes on Huawei P30 Lite.

This week's project is on a Colour', I chose to photograph the colour pink. For this project you can choose any colour to set a theme for this project. Below are a selection of images that I photographed showing different styles in photography. I have varied the style from smoke photograph, panning close-up etc.

I love landscape photography, especially when it is not sunny and bright outside, I believe weather conditions that we have here give us an endless opportunity to capture the beauty of the countryside/landscapes we have. Here are a few tips to improve your landscape photography.

Mobile phones today have amazing in-built features that one can use to photograph creatively. I have a Huawei P30 Lite which has a triple camera with 48MP. I am really amazed with the quality of the photographs the phone produces.

In photography terms, 'Selective Focus' means that the photographer chooses which part of the image he/she would want to keep in focus. This could mean that the photographer chooses to keep the foreground in focus, blurring the background. Or keeping the mid ground / background in focus and blurring the rest of the image.

It is always interesting to take photographs after it has rained, there is a lot of photographic opportunities.
Water droplets can create amazing photographs, some of these photographs have been taken using a mobile phone.

In this article, I will be briefly looking at how to photograph Abstracts.

What is Abstract Photography?

Abstract photography is a style of photography that allows the photographer to express ideas, emotions, shapes and colour impact with the final image, instead of creating the realistic representation of the subject. This allows the photographer to go beyond the visual representation to focus on the interesting elements of the subject as well as focusing on their creativity.

Photography during winter is fun, especially when the mornings are filled with mist and the light is golden. There are long shadows during sunset and frost throughout the day, beautifully formed on spider webs, plants and anything that touches the chill. Then there is snow, which creates its own unique atmosphere. But most importantly, the whole ambiance is a wonderland.

It is possible to take good flower photographs with a compact camera also and not just with a SLR.

Compact cameras often do not have interchangeable lenses like SLRs, but the macro and zoom facilities on most compact cameras will allow photographing subjects in close-up as well as distant.

In this article I will briefly explain the common camera modes associated with ‘Point & Shoot’ cameras and DSLRs. You may be aware that compact cameras have various pre-set modes (often known as ‘scenes’) and you may have wondered what these modes are use for.

Autumn is one of my favourite seasons for photography as it’s filled with cool nights, misty mornings, golden lighting, dew drops on spider webs, reflections of autumn colours in the water, long shadows and fallen leaves which all create a great atmosphere. But most importantly, the striking colours in the environment.

The photographs below have also been photographed using natural light on my mobile phone. The heels were placed on a brown backdrop and were photographed at different angles and with some photographs, selective focus was used to enhance the detail.
